A long time ago – in a galaxy far, far away I was showing an old boss (and my first real mentor) the CVs of some candidates we were recruiting, and he said…
“Of course we need to know what they have DONE – but I am much more interested in WHO THEY ARE”.
So, for those of you interested in the former – here is my bio and LinkedIn profile.
For those of you interested in the latter – here is the output of a fascinating experiment I did a year or so ago with one of my mentors. I asked 27 people who had known me and worked with me for more than five years to fill out a survey on me.
After bringing up my two adorable (now 'flown the nest' and 'off the payroll') children, pretty much single-handedly, for 20+ years (and none of us has needed too much therapy as a result!)...
These days I lead a simple life.
After some fun roof-down road trips, walking my beloved ‘B’ (@BtheBMD on Instagram) on the beaches and in the countryside of beautiful Britain, I have recently fallen head-over-heels in love with the Isles of Scilly.
I plan to return frequently to this place that for me (and B!), is Paradise.
I have been to lots of countries in my life (60 in fact) – lived in six for more than a year - travelled the world many times on business and for pleasure – but now I want to be ‘at home’ in the UK. Reading, writing, walking, cooking, nattering with friends.
Oh – and helping millions of people ‘Shine Brighter and Share Wisdom’.
When I am not working on QDOOZ – or walking ‘B’ - I have two things that help me relax - and one that doesn’t. You can guess which one doesn’t!
I am a long-time supporter (too many years to count!) and season ticket holder of Fulham FC.
I love Jazz and Blues at Ronnie Scott's.
I am involved with fundraising for the RPO and their community outreach programme called Resound.
